Ealandians III 2-2 Old Centralians IV
Fulton
Charlsworth
Another 2 points dropped in the quest for a decent season. Im pretty sure the transfer window has in fact
opened in the yobl. A dramatic improvement in the clientele & standard of football from the team we crushed 3-0 away earlier
on in the season. As usual we managed to start poorly but still managed to take the lead through Brett Charlsworth. Cents
responded with a headed goal from a corner, (I pretty sure it was the man I was marking who scored) It was quite surprising
with 2 quick lads up front that the only real threat came from set pieces. Again we didn’t create enough chances to
take a first half lead and went in at 1-1. Changing things around at half time our young whiz kid Jordan Fulton went tearing
through the Cents defence and buried one in the roof of the net. We had a couple of chances to put the game to bed, but as
usual lack of quality in front of goal costs us the win. With 10 mins to go the same old story happened with us failing to
clear the ball and awarding Cents a scrappy goal. They had a chance at the end to win it but Jamie our goalkeeper made an
excellent save to salvage a point. Things will defiantly have to change next week if we are going to put our season back on
track.

A disaster end to the year for the thirds losing to the bottom club in the league. Missing one or two faces
due to the christmas period I threw myself back into the fold at centre back. The last time we played the 4th's at their place
they had only eleven players available and were scrapping together to form a team, we won comfortably 5-1. This time a few
new faces appeared from some of the higher Collegians teams according to our Reserve team manager who played in goals for
us and the referee. It was a bit obvious when they game kicked off and they stringed together about 15 passes, something they
were unable to do last time. We battered away nevertheless and got our noses infront with last years third team player of
the year Matthew Parker heading home. At half time it was nothing more than we deserved for our efforts. Into the second half
and we got another with a Nathan Gregory header; a player who has been struggling to break his way into the team this year.
Still his man of the match performance has given me another selection headache next week haha. Then with 20 minutes to go
we threw the game away with 2 shocking horror goals that we conceeded both through slack defending, some of the players in
our club clearly need to think about their performances today and stop thinking they are better than they are. Then with 10
mins to go a ball fired into the box was handled by our left back, it did seem a bit harsh but the penalty was scored. We
did have a chance to equalise near the end with the ball hitting the underside of the bar and going in (why is there no goal
line technology in division 5 lol).
Lets hope this result doesn't stop us being promoted or better still champions,
expect vengance!

Ealandians bounce back from last weeks defeat to return to winning ways. Thornesians started the game
well and got into the lead through a penalty, which was placed well in the corner. They then got a second through some scrappy
defending from our centre backs and an easy finish. For the first 20 minutes we were garbage and Thornesians had chances to
put the game to bed, however the didn’t. The rest of the game Ealandians dominated and quickly got back on level terms,
firstly through a Jordan Fulton penalty. Jordan went on to terrorize the right wing and crossed a ball to the back post where
Johnny Irving was on hand to help it into the net. Matthew Robinson then went through and scored a fantastic goal only to
be given offside, Damien Byran hit the bar and missed a few other chances to take the lead. Thornesians were given another
penalty but our goalkeeper made a fantastic save.
At half time we knew if we kept this up the game was ours, we won
the 50/50’s and stopped thorns from playing. Fulton got his second with half an hour to go with a well-finished free
kick; we also had more chance to put this game to bed. Ryan Klemp then returned from injury to play the last 20 minutes and
get the fourth with a header. Thornesians got another gimme goal in stoppage time but it wasn’t enough to get a point.
A 4-3 win was just what we need after last week, they were much better last week and we were much better this week.

Ealandians III 2-4 Old Thornesians Res

Ealandians superb was ended on Saturday when our luck just ran out. We had nicked a few games in previous
weeks while not necessarily being the best team, but not this time. The game didn’t start well even before kick off
with the second team only having 7 players and having to steal 4 of ours, only for them to return at 3 o’clock saying
the game was off. Another calamity situation but still we got on with it and started the game well. Matthew Robinson opened
the scoring for us after 15 minutes with a scrappy goal in the 6 yard box, stood at right back today I thought we were going
to get away with it again and win. Half an hour in and Thornesians equalized with a ball into the box and 4 Thornesians players
all waiting to finish. We then struggled for the rest of the game with Thornesians constantly attacking us and they got their
noses in front with a quick forward racing through and finishing well. 2-1 at half time and we knew we had to score next if
we wanted our invincible status to continue. We had a few chances to level it but Thornesians had more chances to win it and
they got their third with some crap defending (probably by me!). We then looked deflated as the reality that we didn’t
have enough to win this one set in. We gifted Thornesians with a fourth with about 10 minutes to go just to really %*$# me
off. There was still time for Paul Gibbons to come on, score a goal on his 40th birthday and win man of the match. Unfortunately
we have to play them again next week, however a win would nullify this weeks result and keep us in a comfortable position.

The thirds ground out another performance against a well-organized Centralians outfit. We had a few lads
missing this week; nevertheless I loved the thought of stepping back in, until I realized the temperature was minus 4. The
pitch also looked like it had been recently plowed by a farmer, who found himself in the wrong field and had a taste for football
pitches. As you can expect the standard of football was pretty poor as we tried to pass the ball digging it out of the ground
with every kick. We had a few chances with the Centralians goalkeeper being equal to everything; Dave Shearer found himself
through only for him to have his shot tipped onto the post and dribble across the line. He had another chance but was well
tackled in the penalty box; Byran and Fulton also had shots saved. Centralians did seem quite pleased at half time with 0-0
and we knew we had to up our game if we wanted the win. The breakthrough came from young prodigy Jordan Fulton who finished
well from just inside the box with defenders advancing on his position. He did have an easy pass to me on his left but realized
I would have only hit the corner flag, good decision. We then finally started playing and had plenty of chances to increase
our lead, it took a while longer for Fulton to get a second when his shot was deflected in. Centralians were running out of
ideas and were limited to a few long-range efforts, one of which was brilliantly saved by stand in keeper Richard Bentley.
Matthew Robinson then came off the bench to get himself to double figures for the season, finishing well one on one. Jordan
gets man of the match this week for breaking the deadlock and Centralians win the hottest shower in the country award for
temperatures clearly approaching 80 degrees centigrade (or 176 degrees Fahrenheit for you older boys) No game next week for
the thirds but the week after it’s the division 5 Hatton v Mayweather clash with us entertaining Thornesians Reserves.

Ealandians win at local
rivals to push further up the table. The game started well for us with Dave Shearer opening the scoring after a minute. Some
inspired goalkeeping from a young lad in the Collegians goal kept the game from being a rout. However Shearer managed to get
his second 25 minutes in, followed quickly by a Damien Byran goal. On the 40 minute mark Shearer completed his hat trick and
pretty much sealed the game. The second half was different; Collegians came out with nothing to lose and got a goal to restore
some respectability. We had quite a lot of chances but the new goalkeeper who came on at half time looked pretty solid. We
eventually got another with Matthew Robinson squaring a ball to Jordan Fulton who finished well in the top corner. Another
good win for us that keeps the points total ticking, the only disappointing thing was we had to leave a few lads out this
week due to there being so many players available (including me ). If this keeps up we may have to run a 4th team next year.

Another solid
display from Ealandians sees them keep their 100% record for another week, but they were severely challenged by a good Alwoodley
team. The game started poorly for Ealandians with Alwoodley scoring early with a good through ball and a quick forward beating
our goalkeeper to the ball and scoring into an empty net. It was nothing more than they deserved, as we were slow out of the
blocks. Damien Byran responded for Ealandians after some good work on the right hand side. Once we had settled down we looked
quite good and took the lead through Adam Worsick, a great ball from Ainsley Hawksworth picked him out at the back post. Both
teams had a few chances before half time but neither team came close to changing the scores. The second half was a carbon
copy of the first with us starting slow again, letting Alwoodley level at 2-2 after some poor defending. Ealandians then finally
produced some quality football and started to stretch the Alwoodley defence. Jordan Fulton ran riot on the right hand side
and beat 3 players before squaring the ball to Byran who finished well for his second. Hawksworth got his name on the score
sheet after more chaos in the box. To cap it off right back Ben Beavers received the ball from Fulton outside the box, launching
the ball over the keeper to make it 5-2. Jordan Fulton is awarded the man of the match with some superb skills and pace that
changed the game today.

Ealandians III 2-1 Huddersfield Amateurs IV
Chesters
Shearer
Ealandians edge another close
game to maintain top spot. Last time we played Huddersfield we were battered and somehow still won, this time out I felt we
were far better. Straight from kick off we looked good on the ball and limited Huddersfield to minimal chances. We missed
some golden opportunities to take the lead with Huddersfield clearing balls off the line. 20 minutes in and Dave Shearer converted
a penalty for Ealandians after Chris Chesters was brought down in the box. Ealandians found themselves through on goal a few
more times but were unable to increase their lead.
The second half started well for Huddersfield as they changed their
formation slightly and put another man up front. They had a few early chances and found themselves back on level terms with
a great through ball and well timed finish. Huddersfield then looked good to win it and gain revenge for our away win, Chris
Chesters had other ideas and converted a great corner from Ainsley Hawksworth. Ealandians then looked comfortable and had
a chance at the end to make sure of the win; substitute Kurt Mather was unable to score from close range.

Leeds City IV 0-1 Ealandians III
Chesters
Ealandians move five clear at the top of Division 5 with their
6th league win. With 6 of last weeks starting eleven missing we knew Leeds City could be a potential bogey especially with
their good result last week. They were at us from the off and quickly had a few early chances but Martin Gill, back from his
honeymoon was up to the task with some great saves. We struggled in the air against some quite big lads, half way through
the first half a ball game in and the day’s comedy centre back (myself) managed to get a bust nose quickly turning a
lovely fitting football shirt into a bloody mess. We had some chances of our own and could have had a couple of goals; unfortunately
all our attempts were squandered. The pitch was quite small and suited the older lads from Leeds, as we were unable to get
the ball through them. At half time 0-0 was a good score line for us.
Into the second half and it was more ball over
the top from Leeds trying to flick the ball off a tall centre forward. They had some more good chances and had a few offsides
given against them, rightly so I thought being the last man there was always someone beyond me. At the other end Matthew Robinson
found himself through on goal to force a great save from the keeper. From the resulting corner Chris Chesters scrambled the
ball into the net for the lead. For the remaining 20 minutes Leeds continued to try and break through and were faulted by
the man of the match Martin Gill.
Leeds deserved a point and will feel hard done by our raid, we will need a few players
back next week if we are to beat a good Huddersfield team.

Croxall
Ealandians bounce back from last weeks comedy show to rack up win number
5. It started well for us with the fact that we actually had a goalkeeper this week. We were quickly out of the blocks with
some quick passing football that was very effective; Matthew Robinson found his 9th of the season with a well-timed finish.
He could have had a second soon after with a cheeky lob that beat the keeper but it came back off the bar. Centre back Minres
Medic found his second in as many games, putting the finish to a scrappy goalmouth scramble. Andy Croxall then fired a free
kick into the penalty box from the half way line, everyone missed it and goal number 3 was scored. Jordan Fulton then got
the 4th with a 35-yard strike that beat the Mods keeper. Mods did pull a good save out of our keeper Hawksworth but were otherwise
limited to long-range efforts. We could have had a few more but 4-0 up at half time was worthy of our efforts.
Into
the second half and Mods were lobbing balls over the back four trying to get behind us to no avail. They did score from a
corner by flattening our goalkeeper and scoring into an empty net. They later scored one from distance, which was the only
mistake our keeper made. Hawksworth quickly redeemed himself with a great save pushing a shot onto the bar. Adam Worsick is
awarded man of the match with a solid performance in the middle of the park.

What a disaster for Ealandians here, a rubbish performance saw them lose their first game this year. The
game didn't start well with the reserves and thirds unable to source goalkeepers today. A young lad for us said he'd twice
played in goal which was good enough for me to shove him in (oh dear). Ealandians took an early lead through Adam Worsik who
had a good game today. Roundheigans equalised with our young goalkeeper spilling a catch and gifting a goal, soon after Roundheigans
scored again with a weak shot that crept in the far post. 30 mins in and Roundheigans got a 3rd with a long range effort flying
in. Ealandians responded with another goal from Worsick and midfielder Charlsworth leveled the game up. Roundheigans could
have scored more as our keeper looked nervous and was making many errors.
At half time I made the crazy decision of
putting myself in goal having played their once as a 16 year old. Within a minute of the second half I screwed up coming out
for a ball and missjudging the bounce allowing Roundheigans to score. Then a dodgy penalty was given against us, our youngest
player managed to force over someone twice his size. I guessed the right way but was unable to save the penalty 5-3 Roundheigans.
Ealandians equalised with 15 mins to go with a screamer from center back Mirnes Medic. The game then filtered down to a disapointing
defeat for us.
We were poor today having the best outfield we've had all season, with our normal goalkeeper we would
have conceeded probably just the one and won the game I think. Still we had enough quality out their to score more than four
goals. Back to the league and hopefully back to winning ways, well done to Ben Beavers winning man of the match on his debut.

Huddersfield Amateurs IV 2-3 Ealandians III

The Huddersfield Amateurs report says it all, a smash and grab raid by Ealandians. With the other teams losing
recently and a club wedding on, teams were depleted of players this week. Poor organisation from the other
mangers almost allowed this game to be called off. However with 9 players at 2.05 pm the 3rds clubed together to form
a make shift side that won a game they never should have.
Huddersfield Amateurs were a much improved side from last year with many new faces. They quickly
got into the lead from some slack defending by Ealandians, they could have had a few more but squandered chances. Jordan
Fulton then converted a scrappy goal for Ealandians who was found asleep in bed at 2 o'clock. Going slightly downhill
with a big wind we hoped to try and nick a half time lead, it was not the case with Huddersfield creating more chances and a
wonder save from Hawksworth keeping the scores level.
At half time Amateurs thought they had won the game which to be fair I would have probably agreed.
A bombardement from Amateurs was swallowed up by the Ealandians defence for a while at least. Then out of nothing Sam
Henderson lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box to give us the lead. With 35 mins remaining it was one way traffic with
Amateur pouring forward and myself (jose) feeling the weight of 6 years solid drinking. We held on until the last ten
when some more slopping defending allowed Huddersfield to nick one. The game swung with Huddersfield looking to win it
and us holding on.
The last few mins were approaching and out of the blue Matt Robinson got his 8th goal in 4 games and
nicked the win for Ealandians. An unbelieveable finish to a game we were totally outplayed, fair play to those who mucked
in including Bob Pinder a former first team manager who unfortunatly went off after 15 mins. I'm now writting this report
at 3 in the morning drunk again and absoultly loving it, well done everyone and congrats Gilly on getting married.

Ealandians edge 9 goal thriller and go top of division 5. The game started well with some early
pressure from Ealandians which resulted in a goal for Matthew Robinson. Wheelwright equalised 10 mins later with a mix
up between the right back (me!) & Hawksworth in goal. Ealandians quickly regained the lead through Damien
Parry only for Wheelwright to score from the penalty spot to make it 2-2. Then the turning point in the match when Robinson's
shot was cleared off the line with a Wheelwright defenders hand, a red card (no) a penalty (no) a goal was
awarded, never seen that one before. Ealandians then had a goal disallowed for pushing, which was a bit harsh. Wheelwright
nicked one before the break beating the back 4 with pace and scoring well.
Into the second half and Robinson got his hat-trick looping the ball over the keeper & then had
another one disallowed for offside. Wheelwright scored a 4th to level the game with more ball over the top football and
another good finish. Robinson scored again from the edge of the box to make it 5-4. With time running out Wheelwright
had a chance that hit the bar but Ealandians held on for the win.
On reflection a scrappy win for Ealandians, it would have been comfortable if Wheelwright had
only 10 men on the pitch but the referee certainly made it interesting and to be fair didn't miss much else. Once some
of our defenders return from injury I think we should be able to make a good challenge for promotion, same goes for our
other teams who are ravaged by injuries which is why the 1st's & 2nd's seem to be struggling at the moment.

Second win for Ealandians, but was not quite as simple as the scorline reflects. A good start from
Ealandians with some early pressure causing a freak goal that deflected off Matthew Robinson for his first. Thornesians responded
quickly with chances of their own and won a penalty (not sure how?) but new goalkeeper Stephen Hawksworth saved it easily.
Ealandians then moved with forward two quick goals, another well finished goal from Robinson & a superb header from
Damien Parry. Thornesians still believed they could get something from the game and had a few more chances before half time.
The Second half was much better from Ealandians who kept the ball low and started running past the tiring
Thornesians. Ainsley Hawksworth found himself with the ball at his feet constantly and provided chance after chance for the
forwards. The Thornesian goalkeeper pulled off some fantastic saves to keep the score down. A fair result in reflection Thornesians
didn't deserve a roasting but Ealandians certainly deserved the win.

Hard earned but deserved win for an effervescent Ealandians outfit with some capable young players guided
by lakers of experience including Johnny Cruise who came out of retirement to play today. Bedes had a couple of first half
chances but were foiled by a great dive at the feet of a Bedes forward by Stephen Hawksworth who looked safe, who commanded
his area and was encouragingly vocal. A great late tackle from Adam Bretherick robbed a Bedes striker in a superb positon
a few yards out. Ealandians went ahead in approximately the 30th minute from a free kick just ouside the area. The free
kick was hit hard and low by the very impressive right midfielder Jordan Fulton. Bedes had a man on the line and therefore
Ainsley Hawksworth went into the six yard box and jumped over the ball as he ran across the goalmouth to confuse the Bedes
defence. The half time talk from Bedes counted for nothing. A shot from Cruise in the 47th minute, went into the right
hand corner of the net to beat the diving Chris Fenton but the pull back by Jordan from the right hand touch line was a carbon
copy of that of Berbatov yesterday for Man Utd. A three man move around the 80 minute mark involving sustitute Paul Gibbon,
Jordan Fulton and Matt Robinson resulted in a perfect cross from Jordan being converted by Robinson.
A game full of
incident that lived up to its pre-match billing. Peel Park in its best condition for many a season. Most enjoyable for all
of us. Sure referee Leigh Jacobs will agree. Bedes did comment on the star performance of Batelian Jordan Fulton. He was outstanding
and dominated the game with the skill, pace and energy in abundance down the right flank.
